Chapter 351 Trouble Still Finds Him
Chapter 351 Trouble Still Finds Him
The morning mist had not yet dissipated, and Chu Tian and Lin Wei took a long-distance bus to a small town in the south. On the bumpy road, Lin Wei snuggled in Chu Tian's arms, with anxiety and excitement intertwined in her heart. She secretly looked at Chu Tian from time to time. This man seemed unusually calm at the moment, as if everything was under his control.
"What are you thinking about?" Lin Wei asked softly, her fingers gently tracing the stubble on Chu Xia's chin.
Chu Tian held her hand, placed it on his lips and kissed it gently, "I was thinking, when we get there, we should find a small place to stay, and then I will contact a few friends to see if there are any opportunities."
Lin Wei nodded and didn't ask any more questions. She knew that Chu Tian's so-called "friends" were actually mostly friends he met in the business world. Now that he was in such a state, it was still unknown whether those people would still help him. But she chose to believe in Chu Tian, just as she believed in their love.
The long-distance bus drove on the bumpy road for more than ten hours and finally arrived at the destination. This is a small town in the south, humid and hot, with a faint smell of mold in the air. As soon as she got off the bus, Lin Wei felt a little uncomfortable. She grew up in the north and had never experienced such a climate.
"Are you okay?" Chu Tian asked with concern, wiping the sweat from her forehead with his hand.
Lin Wei forced a smile and said, "It's okay, I'm just a little bored."
They found a cheap hotel to stay in. The room was small and cramped, with only a double bed and a worn-out table. The walls were mottled and there were spider webs in the corners. Lin Wei frowned, but soon relaxed. Compared to the luxurious villa at home, this place was indeed simple, but she didn't care. As long as she could be with Chu Tian, it didn't matter where she was.
Chu Tian started to contact his so-called "friends", but the results were not satisfactory. Some people immediately changed their attitudes when they heard that he was down and out, and some even hung up the phone directly. Chu Tian was disappointed again and again, but he did not give up. He called again and again, begging humbly, hoping to get a little help.
Lin Wei saw it all and felt pain in her heart. She knew that Chu Tian was a proud person at heart, but now for her, he had to put aside his dignity and beg those who once flattered him.
"Chu Tian, stop fighting." Lin Wei hugged him gently, "Let's find a way ourselves, okay?"
Chu Tian put down his phone and hugged Lin Wei tightly, his eyes moist. He knew that Lin Wei had given up her comfortable life for him and followed him to this strange town, enduring hardships. He couldn't let her down, he had to find a way out as soon as possible.
In the next few days, Chu Tian rushed around looking for job opportunities. He submitted countless resumes, but all of them fell into the sea. There were few job opportunities in this small town, and he had a low education and no relevant work experience, which made it even more difficult.
Their savings were getting less and less, and they were about to run out of money. Lin Wei began to secretly sell her jewelry, hoping to get some money to support her life. Chu Tian discovered her actions and felt even more upset.
"Weiwei, I'm sorry for making you suffer with me." Chu Tian said guiltily.
Lin Wei shook her head, "I'm not bitter, as long as I'm with you, I'm very happy."
Although she said so, Lin Wei's heart was getting more and more anxious. She began to regret her impulsiveness. Perhaps, she should not elope with Chu Tian. She should listen to her father and find a man of equal status to marry.
One night, Chu Tian came back from outside with a crumpled flyer in his hand.
"Weiwei, look, I found a job!" Chu Tian said excitedly.
Lin Wei took the flyer and looked at it. It said: Recruiting bar waiters, salary negotiable.
Lin Wei's expression suddenly turned ugly, "Chu Tian, are you going to be a waiter in a bar?"
Chu Tian saw Lin Wei's displeasure and quickly explained: "Weiwei, I know you don't like this kind of work, but now we have no other choice. When I find a better job in the future, I will quit, okay?"
Lin Wei didn't say anything. She knew very well that bars were a place where all kinds of people mixed together. If Chu Tian went to work there, he would definitely encounter a lot of trouble.
"Weiwei, believe me, I will protect myself." Chu Tian said seriously.
Lin Wei sighed. She knew that it was useless to say anything now because Chu Tian had already made his decision.
The next day, Chu Tian changed into the uniform provided by the bar and started his waiter career. The environment of the bar was worse than Lin Wei had imagined. The air was filled with the smell of alcohol and cigarettes, and the deafening music was a headache. Various women dressed in seductive clothes twisted their bodies on the dance floor, and the men stared at them with lustful eyes.
Chu Tian suppressed his inner discomfort and shuttled among the crowd, serving wine and water. He tried not to look at the scantily clad women or listen to the dirty words.
However, trouble still found him...
A man with dyed yellow hair and a big gold chain around his neck staggered in front of Chu Tian, grabbed his arm, and said incoherently: "Boy, give me a glass of wine!"
Chu Tian suppressed his disgust and tried to be polite: "Sir, what kind of wine would you like to drink?"
The yellow-haired man squinted his eyes and looked at Chu Tian with a frivolous look, "Oh, you're still a virgin. Give me a cup of the strongest drink, I'm happy today!"
Chu Tian poured a glass of strong liquor as he requested and handed it to him. The yellow-haired man took the glass, but did not drink it immediately. Instead, he looked Chu Tian up and down with a hint of amusement in his eyes.
"Boy, are you new here?" he asked.
"Yes." Chu Tian answered concisely.
"Newcomers are good, they are clean." The yellow-haired man said, stretching out his hand to pinch Chu Tian's face, and said frivolously, "You are quite handsome. Are you interested in having a few drinks with me?"
Chu Tian suppressed his anger and dodged his hand without leaving a trace, "I'm sorry, sir, I'm just a waiter."
The yellow-haired man refused to give in. He put his arm around Chu Tian's shoulders and pulled him towards him. "Stop talking nonsense. Drink with me. I can't do without your help."
Chu Tian struggled to break free from his restraints, his face gloomy, "Sir, please respect yourself!"
The yellow-haired man was enraged by Chu Tian's actions. He stood up suddenly, pointed at Chu Tian's nose and cursed: "You are so shameless! Do you know who I am?"
People around looked at him sideways, the music in the bar seemed to be quieter, and the air was filled with gunpowder. Chu Tian took a deep breath and tried to control his emotions. He knew that in a place like this, it was better to have less trouble than more. If he had a conflict with the guests, he would definitely be the one who suffered.
"Sir, I don't want to cause any trouble, please be respectful." Chu Tian tried to stay calm.
The yellow-haired man sneered, "Respect? Who do you think you are? Do you think you deserve my respect? Today I will let you know the consequences of offending me!"
