Chapter 199: Daily Life—Some Filler, but Focused on Lu Lin

Zhou Yuwen hadn't played pool in a long time, but his skills were still sharp. With the enhancements from his rebirth, his precision and coordination made every shot count, leaving his opponents with no chance.  In just a few minutes, he cleared the table, leaving Liu Shuo dumbfounded. “Wow, Brother, you’re way better than you were in high school! Little Ru, set the balls up again!” Liu Shuo exclaimed.

He called over to the girl at the counter, Little Ru, who obediently began resetting the game.

As Zhou Yuwen wiped his cue, he casually said to Liu Shuo, “Lu Hui isn’t someone you should take seriously. Just have fun and move on.”

“I know, Brother. I’m just fooling around,” Liu Shuo replied with a grin.

“You’re sure?” Zhou Yuwen pressed.

“Of course. Honestly, I got carried away that night. I was mainly worried she’d call the cops on me,” Liu Shuo admitted earnestly.

Zhou Yuwen didn’t comment further. He figured that Lu Hui, even if things escalated, would likely just try to extort some money rather than cause real trouble. But it was better for Liu Shuo to remain cautious.

The two continued chatting as Zhou Yuwen broke the rack for the next game. Liu Shuo shared his plans, and the conversation drifted to business topics like the delivery service and part-time student work. Zhou Yuwen made it clear that maintaining fair wages for students was a priority, ensuring their part-time rates remained the highest in Jinling.

As they played, Lu Lin called Zhou Yuwen, asking about dinner plans.

“I thought you were eating with Yanyan?” Zhou Yuwen asked.

“There’s a lecture in our class tonight, so I’m free,” Lu Lin explained.

“Alright, come to the Happy Pool Hall outside the school. It’s Liu Shuo’s place,” Zhou Yuwen replied.

“Okay, I’ll head over.”

After hanging up, Liu Shuo teased, “Was that Sister-in-Law?”

Zhou Yuwen nodded.

“She and Qu Jing seem to have some tension. What’s that about?” Liu Shuo asked.

Zhou Yuwen, curious, asked how Liu Shuo knew.

“Qu Jing messaged me yesterday, asking me to mess with her,” Liu Shuo replied, grinning.

“Seriously? What did you say?”

“I refused, of course. That woman’s crazy if she thinks we’re her lackeys. We’re students, not gangsters!”

Zhou Yuwen laughed but didn’t delve deeper.

When Lu Lin arrived, her confidence shone as she chose a cue and prepared for a game. Dressed in a sleek outfit that highlighted her figure, she attracted attention from those around her. Her skills became evident as she quickly scored several balls, impressing everyone, including Little Ru.

However, as the game progressed, Zhou Yuwen stepped in to challenge her. After several precise shots, he cleared the table to the point where only the black ball and one of his balls remained.

Lu Lin, who had been brimming with confidence, now looked visibly uncertain.

Zhou Yuwen, noticing the rare confidence in her eyes earlier, found her attempt to impress him amusing. Breaking her stride had been unintentional, but her reaction was priceless.   Tʜe sourcᴇ of thɪs content ɪs novel★fire.net

“Still think you’re getting that motorcycle?” Zhou Yuwen teased with a smirk.

Lu Lin rolled her eyes at him, refusing to meet his gaze.

Zhou Yuwen grinned. “How about you beg me, and I’ll let you score a goal?”
