Chapter 1231 Phones disseminated
All while that was happening, the construction of the new Nuclear Power Plant was going swimmingly. Since they weren't in a hurry this time, Kong and the Rebornian Engineers were able to take their time and make sure that the systems were their most efficient. After all, this wasn't like the Mobius factory. That one only needed to produce automobiles in a closed loop system.
However, the Nuclear Power Plant would be connected to multiple territories in the Rebornian Territories, all spanning hundreds of kilometers at the very least.
If they didn't make sure that the proper precautions were taken, it would only take a single mistake before all of their hard work would be invalidated. And with the emergence of new enemies like Earl, Michael had to make sure that that would never happen.
So, they took their time. The Rebornian construction workers worked to dig deep underground, setting up the electricity lines that would eventually connect to each other in a grid.
This was perhaps the most time-consuming part. They simply lacked manpower in this regard. At their best, they could only work on a few hundred kilometers of electrical lines in a day.
Thankfully, the Earl's forces were quite easy to repel. The Shadow Orcs were on top of them, never letting them succeed in terrorizing Rebornian allies for even a single instant.
This had surely frustrated Earl, who had thought that destroying Reborn would earn him easy honor. Now, he was panicking. If he couldn't even defeat a Lower Echelon company, then he wouldn't be treated seriously as an heir to the Oscorpe Conglomerate.
And so, he sent his men to Angora City for information gathering. There, they lived for weeks. Integrating themselves into the community, laying low, and biding their time until they found the right opportunity to spy for Earl.
They were searching for their secret. How did Reborn build something like this? There must be something they were hiding.
And they found… the phone.
The smart phone, the magical item that allowed people to communicate to each other over large distances, for them to take a picture of the world in all its glory with perfect accuracy. The best part was that it didn't have any power source! It seemed to be powered by the environment!
As soon as Earl found this out, he immediately told his men to start acquiring these phones in large quantities.
"Buy them all! I want it for myself too!" he demanded.
And about a week later, a box of phones arrived in Earl's estate.
"Give this to everyone in our estate. Tell them that anyone who is able to find the secret to the Reborn company will get a million Sand Dollars!"
And so, it happened that more than a thousand phones were distributed to the servants, butlers, cooks, maids, and everyone else who had been subservient to Earl.
It was quite ironic.
These people had spent their whole lives stuck inside Earl's estate, never ever stepping foot outside. They didn't know that there was a better life for them somewhere out there.
And now, Earl had just given them a way for them to get a glimpse of that world.
…
…
…
Michael was once again in the Shadow of Reborn headquarters, meeting with the Orc Chieftains and the Rebornian Officers.
"They've taken the bait, boss. The phones have been distributed somewhere in Earl's estate, BU TO TO!" Narito reported.
This was all a part of Michael's plan.
Ever since the Reborn company had shown their fangs at the Summit with the Upper Echelon company, Michael and the Orcs had seen a large uptick of visitors to the Nation of Reborn.
Those elites had been sending people to observe Reborn, find out more about this upstart company who'd proven to be able to fight even against the elites.
And when they saw the different technologies inside, they were utterly shocked.
The roads, the electricity, the large towers that seemed to defy reality… it was all too fantastical.
And even if most of their spies told them about this, they just couldn't wrap their minds about it. They were in disbelief. In a world without magic, how was Reborn able to make lights persist in their nation even in the middle of the night?
Their spies told them it was through these electric lines, but without seeing it for themselves, they couldn't understand it.
However, unlike those kinds of technologies that couldn't be brought back for verification, there was something that could be taken.
And that was the phone.
Michael had started selling the phones to the Nation of Reborn. Only in limited quantities, of course.
Now, since phones needed the Unity Power Source in order to work, something only he could create, he wasn't able to find a way to mass produce them unless his Unity Clones were working on them 24/7.
That's why he only limited the production in the Nation of Reborn.
But of course, no matter how much they tried to keep this phone all to themselves, it was inevitable that other companies or organizations would get ahold of the phone.
Michael was okay with this. First of all, all the information being sent from the phones were all flowing towards the Tesseract in his possession. And ChatJK6 could easily filter through them, making sure that Reborn's secrets were preserved.
And second of all, the dissemination of phones would be an important piece of his plan to unify the world into his ideals.
It was like an automobile. Once everyone had their own phones, the quality of their lives would significantly increase. Communication would be better than ever!
Case in point.
ChatJK6, are you ready to set the update on the phones?
[Yes. Updating the phone's software and applications in 3… 2… 1…]
And suddenly, all phones in circulation throughout the Royal Continent all suddenly rang as the update was passed down onto them.
Once opened, they would see a new application inside.
[Reborn Connect]
A social media app where all phone users could communicate with each other.
