Chapter 191 Interrogation (2)
Chapter 191 Interrogation (2)
"Anything else?" Tommy pressed, his eyes fixed on Tom, not missing a single detail.
"That's all, that's all. There's nothing else." Tom shook his head, trying his best to make his answer seem more believable.
"Then why did you join this organization?"
"For the sake of freedom, His Holiness the bishop said that following him would allow us to live more freely and not be bound by worldly constraints."
Tom's voice carried a hint of longing, as if that free life held an irresistible attraction for him.
"Freedom?" Tommy was somewhat surprised; he hadn't expected this organization to attract members in the name of freedom.
He frowned, becoming even more curious about the organization's true purpose. Did anyone actually believe in such a ridiculous goal?
“Yes, you don’t know, even Duke Hills will be coming.” Tom seemed to think that mentioning Duke Hills would increase the weight of his words.
"What do you know about Duke Hills?" Tommy's interest was piqued, and he pressed for more information about the duke.
"All I know is that Duke Hills comes to church every day and prays like us, but I don't know anything else."
Tom shook his head, his answer sounding somewhat weak, clearly indicating that he did not know much about Duke Hills.
"Do you have any secret codes for identification?" Tommy continued his interrogation, wanting to know if the organization had its own clandestine communication methods.
"No, no, we don't actually know each other very well, but we share a common dream." Tom quickly denied it, his eyes revealing a simple conviction.
"Okay, I see."
Tommy squinted at him, his eyes revealing disappointment.
He originally thought it was a well-organized conspiracy, but it turned out to be just a so-called charlatan deceiving a group of ignorant believers.
He felt that his previous caution and overreaction seemed somewhat ridiculous.
It seems that only the bishop is a real threat in this church; most of the others are probably just ordinary believers.
Tommy had reached a conclusion and reassessed the threat level posed by the organization.
I really don't know what Rhine is afraid of? Maybe he just finds it troublesome and doesn't want to waste time on these pointless things.
Tommy pondered to himself, puzzled by Rhine's concerns.
"Then, can you let me go now?" Tom asked cautiously, his voice filled with a hint of expectation, hoping that his confession would earn him his freedom.
"Okay, I'll remove the negative effects for you right now."
Tommy said, walking up to Tom with a blank expression.
His words relieved Tom slightly, but what happened next surprised both him and Kirby.
Without hesitation, Tommy swiftly and accurately slashed Tom's neck with his fingers, forming a knife-like motion.
Blood gushed out instantly. Tom's eyes widened in shock and disbelief. His body slowly collapsed, and his life slipped away rapidly within seconds.
"Tommy!" Kirby's voice was filled with shock and anger. He looked at Tommy in disbelief, unable to understand why he would suddenly do such a thing.
“Kobby, they already know our faces. If we let him go, he will definitely go to the law enforcement or to that so-called cult leader to expose us.”
Tommy's tone was calm and firm; he knew he had to take drastic measures to protect himself and his companions.
“But, we are like this…” Kirby’s voice was hesitant and uneasy. He was clearly shocked by Tommy’s actions, but at the same time realized that Tommy’s words made sense.
"Don't worry, no one will know. I'll cover up the evidence. Now we need to strip them of their clothes so we can borrow them."
Tommy's words revealed an undeniable determination; he had already planned every step of the way.
Then, the two silently began to act, stripping Tom and Jerry of their clothes.
Their movements were swift and practiced, as if the scene were familiar to them.
Tommy took some flammable material out of his pocket and carefully smeared it on the corpse.
“Let’s go, let’s go meet that cult leader.” Tommy said, casting a fire spell onto the corpse.
The flames quickly engulfed the corpse, and the firelight danced in the night, illuminating the two men's indifferent faces.
Koby looked at the firelight, his heart filled with mixed emotions, but he knew there was no turning back now.
........
Go back to the previous day.
In an elegantly decorated, softly lit room, Tommy sat on a sophisticated sofa, his eyes revealing both curiosity and wariness.
Looking at the elegant and dignified Mrs. Hills before him, he couldn't help but ask, "I wonder if Mrs. Hills has asked me to come here alone because there is something I can help you with?"
“I need you to do something for me.” Mrs. Hills’ voice was calm and firm, her eyes fixed on Tommy, as if assessing his reaction.
"If you want our All-Knowing Office to do things, it's better to come to the office and discuss it with everyone."
Tommy replied, his tone carrying a hint of professional caution.
As a member of the All-Knowing Agency, he knew that tasks were usually decided through discussions by the entire team.
“I’m not asking the All-Knowing Agency to do something, I’m asking you, Tommy, you personally,” Mrs. Hills corrected, her tone revealing an unyielding firmness.
Tommy narrowed his eyes, his gaze sharp as he stared at Mrs. Hills, a sense of unease rising within him: "You're trying to sow discord among us? Trying to get me removed from the firm?"
“That’s not it.” Mrs. Hills shook her head gently, her expression devoid of any cunning or scheming. “It’s just that I feel the All-Knowing Agency might not be able to handle what I’m asking for, so I wanted to talk to you privately.”
"Do you think I'd accept?" Tommy's voice carried a hint of sneer, his eyes revealing his skepticism about Mrs. Hills's proposal.
"At least the probability is higher." Mrs. Hills's answer sounded confident; she seemed to know Tommy quite well.
“Tell me,” Tommy urged, though his tone remained wary, he still wanted to hear Mrs. Hills’s specific plans.
“Help me kill the cardinal; he’s hypnotizing my husband.”
Mrs. Hills spoke frankly, a hint of resentment and determination flashing in her eyes.
