Chapter 995 - 955: Sheehan Was Pinched
"Sixth Master..."
"What’s wrong?"
Ward glanced at Adrian and his group, then leaned in to whisper something to Adrian. Adrian’s expression changed suddenly, and he walked away briskly without saying a word.
Trevor and Ward exchanged looks.
"What happened?"
"Not sure, but judging by Adrian’s reaction, he was pretty upset," Trevor said.
Ward looked towards Samara, only to realize she had left at some point, and his eyes showed a hint of disappointment.
Were it not for the fact that she’s Adrian’s sister-in-law, Ward would have pursued her at all costs.
Trevor noticed his friend’s thoughts and warned, "You know Adrian’s temperament better than anyone—he never lets things slide. Since he said so, you’d better not mess with her."
"I know what I’m doing!"
...
Adrian hurriedly made his way to the backyard. As soon as he reached the door, he heard ********. Auntie Poppy was standing in the corridor holding Sheehan, causing Adrian’s anger to flare up.
"Sir..."
Adrian shouted at Auntie Poppy, "Why are you standing here with Sheehan?"
"Sheehan wants milk... but..."
"Get out!"
Auntie Poppy blushed, lowered her head, and was about to leave with Sheehan, when Adrian took Sheehan from her arms and said, "Go collect your salary for this month, and then get out!"
Adrian handed Sheehan over to Marion and said, "Take him to Madam!"
"Yes, Sixth Master."
"Sir, did I do something wrong? Tell me, and I can change."
Auntie Poppy didn’t want to leave. The job was high-paying yet easy, and the Johnson Family was nice to her. Where else could she find such a good job?
"Get out!" Adrian had no patience to explain.
Marion didn’t say anything to Auntie Poppy, just grabbed her arm and dragged her out.
Once outside, Auntie Poppy asked unwillingly, "Marion, what did I do wrong? Why does the sir want to fire me?"
Marion said, "You shouldn’t have let Sheehan hear those inappropriate sounds."
Auntie Poppy was stunned for a moment, then understood. "I was scared at the time; I didn’t know what to do."
Marion said, "If you’re so useless, why stay here at all?"
"Sheehan, Sheehan... Auntie Poppy has to go."
Auntie Poppy held Sheehan’s little hand, crying, "They’re making Auntie Poppy leave. I won’t be able to take care of you anymore."
Auntie Poppy had taken care of Sheehan for so long, thinking he would feel unwilling to part with her, but she didn’t expect Sheehan to just look at her with wide eyes.
"Sheehan, you must be unwilling to part with Auntie Poppy, right?"
This cold-hearted child—Auntie Poppy pinched Sheehan, and he cried out at once.
Sienna Johnson was hosting customers from her spot, where she could only faintly hear crying, but being sensitive to Sheehan’s cries, the sound was magnified to her.
"I’m sorry, it seems my son is crying. I need to check on him."
"Crying? I didn’t hear anything... Did you hear wrong?"
Sienna smiled and said, "I hope I heard wrong. But I’m not at ease; I want to go check on him."
Another woman who was also a mother said, "Let her go. Once a woman has a child, that’s where all her thoughts are."
"What about the men?"
"Men have done their part by sowing the seed. What use are they for?"
"Haha..."
...
Sienna headed quickly toward the sound and saw Auntie Poppy and the crying Sheehan in Marion’s arms at her residence.
"Marion, you see Sheehan is crying. Give him to me, let me comfort him."
"..."
"Sheehan, sweet baby, don’t cry. Let Auntie Poppy hold you..."
Auntie Poppy tried to use Sheehan as an excuse to stay with the Johnson Family, but to her surprise, Sheehan remembered the pinch and refused to let her hold him. Whenever Auntie Poppy reached out, Sheehan would hit her.
Though Sheehan was small, his hits could hurt a lot.
"What’s going on here?" Sienna asked.
Seeing his mother, Sheehan cried even harder and stretched his little arms toward Sienna. Sienna quickly stepped forward and took Sheehan into her arms.
"Why is he crying so much? Hasn’t he eaten enough?" Sienna looked at her son, his face covered in tears and snot, and felt extremely distressed.
Auntie Poppy seized the opportunity and said, "Madam, that Kayla is in the room with a man doing something shameful. It’s so embarrassing."
"What do you mean?"
Auntie Poppy had always been at odds with Kayla and hoped for Kayla’s scandal to be exposed, so she told Sienna everything.
Apparently, Dan had come to see the child, and somehow things had escalated to the bedroom.
Sienna was furious. He’s already married 18 women; isn’t that enough for him?
"Madam, the sir wants to fire me. Please, speak to him on my behalf; don’t let him fire me... I’m innocent. What does Kayla’s shamelessness have to do with me?"
Auntie Poppy cried to Sienna, hoping to soften her heart with tears to achieve her goal.
Sienna glanced at Auntie Poppy with sharp eyes, "Since Adrian wants you to leave, I can’t help you there. It’s the beginning of the month; I’ll pay you the full month’s salary."
"Madam, everyone knows you run this household. The sir is just a live-in son-in-law and listens to you in everything. Please, just talk to him; don’t let him fire me."
"Marion, show Auntie Poppy out!"
"Madam..."
Sienna didn’t even look at Auntie Poppy, found an empty room, undid her blouse, and fed Sheehan. Hungry as he was, he latched on desperately, causing Sienna some pain.
"Drink slowly; there’s no one to compete with you." Sheehan drank too quickly and choked.
Sienna picked him up, gently rubbing his back, while Sheehan kept snuggling into her embrace.
"Drink slowly."
After about ten minutes, Sheehan was finally full.
Sienna handed Sheehan to Sally and instructed her to hold him upright and burp him, while she tidied up her clothes behind the screen.
"Meow... Woof..." Sally imitated various animal sounds to entertain Sheehan, who curiously stared at her mouth, fascinated by how the sounds were made.
"Tiger, roar..."
Sheehan reached out to grab Sally’s mouth, thinking there was something inside it. Sally caught his little hand and suddenly noticed an unusual red mark on Sheehan’s arm.
She leaned in closer to look and found it more peculiar. This time of year, there were no mosquitoes, so it couldn’t be a mosquito bite.
"Madam, look at the red mark on Sheehan’s arm. What do you think happened?"
Sienna came over, took his small arm, and examined it closely, "Who pinched Sheehan?"
"Huh?"
"You stay with Sheehan. I’ll go find out what happened."
"I’ll go with you." Adrian had strictly instructed her not to leave Sienna’s side.
"You personally watch over Sheehan. I don’t trust anyone else."
