Chapter 1445: Peril
Chapter 1445: Peril
The sky and earth were dark, and sandstorms swept through.
Qin Yi stood in a strange environment.
This place was vast, boundless, and surrounded by dark, barren mountains and hills.
Qin Yi raised his hand, stunned.
He saw several stone pillars, like sky-reaching pillars, towering and unattainable, as if they were supporting this world.
The ground, resembling sand, had a dark red color.
Qin Yi picked up a handful, examined it carefully, and his face changed greatly; it was blood sand.
Blood sand formed from the sand dyed with blood.
As far as the eye could see, with no end in sight, the ground was covered in blood sand; unimaginable amounts of blood must have been spilled to create such a horrifying scene.
Qin Yi closed his eyes slightly and reopened them after a moment, then walked in a certain direction.
He sensed that Tian Xie had headed in this direction.
"Clang!"
Qin Yi kicked something, and his brow furrowed, a look of pain flashed across his face.
Looking down, he saw a half-corroded iron sword.
Qin Yi was astonished; the half-corroded iron sword had ripped through his shoe and injured his toe, with blood flowing profusely.
Considering his unmatched physique, not even a divine weapon could easily injure him, let alone a half-corroded iron sword.
Purple Light swirled around as the wound healed.
Qin Yi changed into a new pair of shoes.
Then he approached, examining the half iron sword he had kicked away.
As he got closer, he felt the murderous intent emanating from the sword.
Qin Yi picked up the sword, his expression slightly changing.
This should have been a Holy Artifact, now corroded by time, but its residual power remained.
The Holy Artifact was broken, and its owner must have perished long ago.
Qin Yi’s eyes darkened slightly, recalling the vision he had while cultivating earlier.
Earlier, he had Deviation because an unexpected image appeared in his mind.
The image showed two factions fighting recklessly, each side possessing terrifying power enough to destroy the world.
Blood flowed like rivers, and corpses piled up like mountains.
Yet the scene was obscured by a thin mist, making it unclear who was fighting.
Qin Yi didn’t understand why such an image appeared in his mind; he speculated it was related to Tian Xie.
Perhaps, two Evil Eyes met and triggered some memory.
Qin Yi stood up and moved forward quickly.
He needed to find Tian Xie as soon as possible.
Tian Xie’s reckless charge into this Ancient Relic indicated there was something very important to him here.
What Tian Xie sought must not fall into his hands.
However, the further Qin Yi went, the more fearful he became.
The place where he saw the half-corroded sword should have been the edge of this space.
The deeper he went, the more terrifying the scene became.
There were the bones of Fierce Beasts, the size of mountains, lying dead for an unknown amount of time, emitting a menacing aura so strong that it made Qin Yi’s blood surge just by approaching.
There were broken corpses with terrifying pressure; getting within twenty meters made Qin Yi bend over under the pressure.
Skeletons piled up, broken weapons scattered everywhere.
Qin Yi felt a chill down his spine. One could not tell how long these individuals had been dead, but they were definitely figures who once shook the heavens and earth.
"Ah..."
A heart-wrenching howl suddenly came from up ahead.
Someone?
Qin Yi’s figure flickered as he cautiously bypassed the corpse remnants with terrifying residual power, heading towards the sound.
From a distance, Qin Yi saw an old man, clutching his head, eyes about to burst from their sockets, screaming madly at the sky, like a rabid dog.
This old man seemed familiar to Qin Yi.
He remembered that when he was inspecting Divine Enlightenment Mountain earlier, preparing to punch the rock wall, it was this old man who acted first.
Qin Yi realized the reason for the man’s madness.
Not far from the old man was a piece of white bone, uncertain whether it belonged to a human or beast, with a small red spot resembling blood on Bone Mountain.
However, the red spot emitted a faint red glow, like a red thread connecting to the old man’s forehead.
The old man screamed frantically, yet his body shriveled at a terrifying speed.
In just three minutes, the old man turned into a dried corpse.
The red spot on the bone, however, had grown more than twice its size.
Qin Yi’s heart raced with fear, finding this bone terrifying; half-buried in blood sand and nearly weathered, yet with such frightening power.
Even a small piece of broken weapon or bone here could be lethal.
Qin Yi carefully maneuvered around the bone.
Ordinarily, with his curious nature, Qin Yi would have rushed forward to study what made this bone so peculiar.
But now, without having seen Tian Xie, he couldn’t allow himself to take the risk.
After walking several miles further, Qin Yi encountered another horrifying sight.
A complete set of white bones knelt on the ground, skewered through the head by a rusty spear entering at the back and exiting through the brow, preventing the bones from collapsing.
Some Qi Refiners seeking fortune approached with curiosity upon seeing the intact skeleton.
But then a horrifying scene unfolded.
The skeleton suddenly rose violently, picking up the nearby half iron sword.
One swing for each.
Four Qi Refiners of not insignificant cultivation were instantly slain without a chance to react.
Can you imagine a skeleton impaled by a spear picking up a half iron sword and rising violently to kill?
Qin Yi felt a chill run down his spine.
This person was dead, but the murderous intent remained.
Perhaps, a lingering wisp of their soul left on the bones allowed the skeleton to instantly kill those four people.
Qin Yi couldn’t explain it, only suspecting that the enduring murderous intent caused this phenomenon.
Otherwise, he had no explanation.
Qin Yi carefully avoided the corpses.
He realized that those who died here were colossal figures who once dominated the world, each with the power to destroy the heavens and earth.
Even in death, he couldn’t afford to provoke them.
The Ancient Battlefield, a war of gods and demons.
Qin Yi had experienced it.
He had always thought of himself as someone significant; had he been part of this battlefield back then, he might not even qualify to participate in the fight.
Now Qin Yi only had two thoughts: First, find Tian Xie, and kill him if possible. Second, find Jing Wangyou and others to take them out.
This place was too treacherous to linger in.
Yet everything he had seen made Qin Yi feel that the chances of Jing Wangyou and others surviving were very slim.
"Boom!"
Suddenly, a dull explosion sounded ahead.
The sand sea beneath Qin Yi’s feet boiled, as if responding to a land dragon turning over.
Qin Yi perceived that the explosion came from far away, at least a hundred miles away.
You can imagine how terrifying that explosion was.
Qin Yi wanted to turn and leave; the extreme danger here meant that Tian Xie might have been slain by some awakening corpse anyway.
Of course, that was just a hopeful thought.
He rushed toward the source of the explosion.
"Bang!"
Suddenly, the blood sand ahead of Qin Yi exploded, and a broken white bone arm transformed into a swift beam of light, blasting towards him.
Caught off guard, Qin Yi nearly collided with it head-on.
