The hissing sound grew closer, accompanied by a stench of fish.
A giant centipede covered in red scales crawled out of the darkness. It was as thick as a water bucket, and its two antennae on its head kept waving, making a nauseating "crackling" sound.
"Holy crap! This centipede is huge!" Jiang Ye couldn't help but swear. "How much protein does this thing have? Enough for several meals!"
"Eat your head, my foot!" Ye Shuli slapped Jiang Ye on the back of the head. "Hurry up and get ready for battle!"
The red-haired behemoth roared and pounced on the two of them.
Jiang Ye drew his longsword and stood in front of Ye Shuli, the blade gleaming with a faint golden light.
"Lili, be careful, this thing is a bit tricky," Jiang Ye said while fending off the giant beast's attacks.
"Nonsense! Do you need to tell me that?!" Ye Shuli rolled her eyes, her spiritual energy surging in her hand, condensing into a sharp ice blade, which she thrust towards the giant beast's head.
The ice blades collided with the scales of the behemoth, producing a piercing scraping sound and sparks flying everywhere.
The giant beast, in pain, let out a roar and attacked even more frantically.
The passage was narrow, and the enormous body of the beast occupied most of the space. Ye Shuli and Jiang Ye dodged and weaved, facing constant danger.
"This thing is really thick-skinned!" Ye Shuli complained. "We need to find a way to break its defenses."
"Lili, do you have any good ideas?" Jiang Ye asked while brandishing his sword.
Ye Shuli's eyes lit up, and an idea came to her. "I've got it! Can you hold it off for a bit?"
"Alright!" Jiang Ye replied, putting all his strength into a fierce battle with the giant beast.
Ye Shuli then took out some strange things from her spatial ring and started tinkering with them.
"Lili, what are you doing?" Jiang Ye asked curiously.
"Don't talk! I'm building something good!" Ye Shuli replied without looking up.
A moment later, Ye Shuli had a strangely shaped device in her hand.
"What is this thing?" Jiang Ye asked, completely bewildered.
"A secret weapon!" Ye Shuli smiled mysteriously. "Watch this!"
She aimed the device in her hand at the behemoth...
"Wait, Lili!" Jiang Ye suddenly realized something. "This thing won't explode, will it?"
Ye Shuli smiled slyly, "Guess?"
Ye Shuli pressed the start button, and the device emitted a "buzzing" sound. Immediately afterwards, a powerful airflow surged out, forming a barrier that blocked all the giant beast's attacks.
"Wow! A high-pressure water gun! Lili, you're amazing!" Jiang Ye exclaimed excitedly.
This is not a high-pressure water gun at all; it is clearly a simplified version of a high-pressure water cannon that Ye Shuli made using a high-pressure container and some small pipes, combined with the water source in the ruins!
