2. A difficult forest exploration for survival!
2. A difficult forest exploration for survival!
Annie felt somewhat helpless about the time travel, unsure whether to laugh or cry. Surviving a plane crash was truly a miracle, but now she would never have the chance to return to Earth and see her family and friends again.
The message left by the God of Space revealed that the power of the laws of the spatial realm is unfathomable, even to a being as powerful as the God of Space. The power of the spacetime turbulence is even more mysterious and unpredictable. If it weren't for a series of coincidences, Annie would have already perished in the spacetime turbulence like the other people on the plane, leaving no trace of her body or soul. Her chance of returning to Earth would have been virtually nonexistent.
Thinking of her beloved family on Earth, Annie's eyes reddened, but she held back her tears and instead looked up at the sky with a smile.
The words she had heard from her father and brother that day echoed in her ears. She believed that, with the passage of time, her mother would be persuaded by her father to believe that she had gone to another world and to pray for her.
And she had indeed arrived in another world, a strange world. But she remembered her father's words and her brother's words. She knew they must be praying for her. She knew that no matter which world she was in, they would pray for her, praying for her happiness and peace!
“Mom and Dad, Annie has indeed gone to another world. In this world, I will continue to pray for you, wishing you a peaceful life. Goodbye, Mom and Dad! Goodbye, little brother! Goodbye, everything on Earth.”
Annie Aisha's small face showed an unprecedented determination.
My dearest, even if we are at opposite ends of the earth, please cherish each other.
Anne, in a different time and space, with the same name, a different body, but the same soul, she will live on.
Having calmed down, Annie began to carefully observe her surroundings.
This was not the place she had seen when she opened her eyes upon arriving in Gerson, because now, before her eyes was no longer a dense canopy of trees, but a small lake.
The lake is surrounded by towering ancient trees of various kinds. Miss Aisha has never been here before, so this must be the work of the Space God. He must have transferred her here, a place with water, where it is naturally easier to survive.
But that wretched God of Space, has he forgotten that Annie is only a twelve-year-old child? Couldn't he have moved her to a town, to a populated place? Or even just sent her back to Ash's house in Priscilla?
Never mind, maybe that guy has used all his power to repair the spacetime rift and can't teleport her any further.
Anne tried to comfort herself.
Clever Anne's guess, though not entirely correct, was not far off.
As Annie stretched her small body, she thought about the resources she could utilize.
Although Miss Ashe died from eating the poisonous fruit, she at least had a good meal, so Annie, who was using Miss Ashe's body, felt quite well at the moment.
Miss Ash possesses excellent magical talent and has also learned some basic magic. After thinking for a moment, Annie stretched out her hand, meditated, and silently recited a spell, following her memory.
"Fireball!"
In the center of his palm, a fireball the size of a thumb rose tremblingly.
"Ha, it worked!" Annie couldn't help but laugh, and the trembling little fireball was extinguished with her laughter.
"Uh... haha, it's pretty good that I succeeded on my first try. Uh, it seems I do have some talent!"
Anne awkwardly told herself that she had completely ignored the fact that when the original Miss Ashe cast her fireball spell, the fireball was the size of a fist. Although it was not very offensive, it could last for quite a while.
Although Annie possessed Miss Ash's memories, she had never actually practiced magical meditation. Controlling mental and magical power cannot be achieved through mere theory. Her ability to successfully cast Fireball without any practical experience can be attributed entirely to the instincts of this body.
She tried several minor spells in succession: Water Arrow, Illumination, and Drift. Some were successful, some were not. Even the successful ones weren't very powerful, but for Annie, it was already quite good. At least she managed to cast Fireball, so the source of fire wasn't a problem.
I checked my body again more carefully.
Aside from abrasions and bruises all over her body, there were no other major problems. She wore a heart-shaped necklace with the family crest of Miss Ash on it. It was made of pure gold and the pendant could be opened. One side of the pendant was engraved with her name, Anne Ash, and the other side was engraved with Miss Ash's portrait.
This thing is extremely important to Annie; if she can escape the Monster Forest, it will be her proof of identity.
Anne deduced that the Little Prince and his guards had most likely perished, and it would be nearly impossible for her to walk back to Priscilla on her own. Her only option was to settle for the Royal Magic Academy of Kane, which was very close to the Monster Forest, to continue her studies.
Anne began to sort through all her possessions.
I have a necklace that I'll need to use to prove my identity later, so I have to keep it safe and not touch it.
Several pieces of cloth were torn from under her tattered long skirt. Because the skirt was of such good quality, and because she was small and weak, it took her a lot of effort to get them off. Now her skirt had become a short skirt that didn't go past her knees. Some of the pieces could be used as cleaning supplies, and one of the larger pieces could be used as a bundle.
The dress still had some lace, which was already tattered. After she tore it off, she picked out a few pieces that were still usable, braided them together, and used them to tie her hair.
There was nothing else besides that.
"Uh, Uncle Space God, are you sure you're not kidding me? How am I supposed to live like this?"
Annie started complaining about the Space God again. Poor Space God, that became Annie's catchphrase. "Uncle, who made you the culprit who caused Annie's situation?"
Despite her complaints, Annie still dragged her short legs to the lakeside, lay down on the bank, scooped up some water with her hands, brought it to her lips, and drank it.
The sweet water flowed down her throat, nourishing her parched stomach, and instantly made her feel much better. She scooped up a few more handfuls of water to drink, which barely satisfied her hunger, but this was not a long-term solution. So Annie began to wander around the lake.
To survive, finding food is the top priority.
There were some unidentified fruits in the bushes under the big tree, but Anne didn't dare to eat them because of Miss Ash's experience. Instead, she set her sights on the small animals around her.
This place is quite magical. I don't know which part of the Monster Forest it is. Judging from the surrounding environment, it seems that no large monsters have been there, because there are no footprints on the ground and no broken branches in the bushes.
Even stronger evidence is that the small animals here, such as snow-white rabbits and colorful pheasants (forgive her for not knowing their real names, let's just call them that for now), are all eating their food freely.
One was munching on grass, the other was pecking at insects. When Annie tried to approach them, they didn't run away. Instead, they stopped eating and stared at her. It wasn't until Annie tried to catch one of the rabbits that the rabbit reacted and disappeared in an instant at a speed invisible to Annie's naked eye!
Much later, when Anne learned that this long-haired, snow-white rabbit was called a Wind Rabbit, she realized how foolish it was to try to catch one by human power.
She tried twice, even using magic, such as a small earthen shield, to try and block the angle of the other party, but that tiny mound of earth that slowly rose was so big that not only rabbits could easily step over it, but even pheasants could do it in one stride. It was so embarrassing for her.
Anne made up her mind that she would study magic diligently when she went to Kane!
In the end, the battle between humans and animals ended with the rabbits and chickens emerging victorious, and Annie gave them up.
Panting, Annie leaned against a tree to rest, gazing at the sky and touching her stomach, looking rather helpless.
The scenery here is so beautiful, the lake is so calm, and the fish swim around carefree... Oh, right, the fish!
Annie suddenly thought, if rabbits aren't afraid of people, then fish must be too, right?
Anne found a shallower bank where some medium-sized fish were swimming happily. Anne gently stepped into the water and stood among the fish. Sure enough, the fish did not panic and flee; they simply swam away quickly when she touched them.
Having learned from her previous experience, Annie knew that the chances of catching the fish with her bare hands were zero. After thinking for a moment, she stepped out of the water, dug a hole where the water met the shore, let the water flow into it, and then sat down to wait!
After a while, sure enough, a small fish swam into the pit she had made. Annie was a little excited, but she still didn't take any action. After a while, the small fish swam away. Annie watched it leave with envy, but she calmly continued to wait. Finally, two medium-sized fish swam into the pit. "Now is the time," Annie thought.
Earth Shield Technique
Annie cast a spell, raising an earthen shield on the side of the pit closest to the water. The tremors alerted the fish. Annie knew that at this height, they didn't need the strength to leap over a dragon gate; a simple leap would be enough for the fish to regain their freedom. So, disregarding her exhaustion, Annie cast the earthen shield spell repeatedly.
"Earth Shield Technique!"
"Earth Shield Technique!"
"Earth Shield Technique!"
"Earth Shield Technique!"
……
Finally, the small earthen shield reached her knees. No matter how much the fish jumped, it couldn't escape Annie's grasp. Annie finally stopped, completely exhausted. She knew she had just overused her magic, but she was still very happy. First, she got food, and second, she felt that although basic magic was useless, it was still quite useful when used continuously.
After resting enough, Annie gathered many dry branches, picked out a relatively hard and sturdy one, and used it to string the two fish in the pit together.
Although it took some effort to catch the fish, there was no way to catch it in this small pit, and she finally managed to catch it. She didn't know how to kill fish, nor did she have any tools to gut it, so she just found a rock and roughly scraped off the scales. Then Annie skewered the fish, lit some dry branches with a fireball spell, and started grilling the fish.
Soon, the aroma of fish filled the air. Annie swallowed hard, and when the fish skin started to char, she couldn't wait to devour the two fish. In her haste, she almost burned her tongue.
After eating two fish and drinking a few mouthfuls of lake water, Annie felt much better. Although she was still not full, she dared not eat any more and could only lie on the grass without moving. The fire next to her then made a hissing sound, and the sun slowly sank to the west. Annie, who was full and tired, fell into a deep sleep without realizing it.
