Become a Knight Across the World

Chapter 284

Chapter 284

After hanging up Zhuang Changwu's call, Lin Yue could even imagine the stunned and bewildered expression on his face on the other end of the line.

She shrugged and tossed her phone aside. Just some noisy weirdo; he'd been dealt with, and that was that. Nothing more to think about.

The sunlight outside was perfect, streaming in through the gaps in the curtains, warm and cozy. My stomach rumbled at just the right moment.

Lin Yue got up and left her room. The living room was quiet. She walked to Yun Yi's door, listened carefully, and heard even breathing inside—he was indeed still asleep.

Lin Yue was too lazy to call him, so she went to the kitchen and cooked a simple bowl of noodles.

Just after finishing eating, I heard a rustling sound of someone getting up coming from Yun Yi's room, accompanied by a long yawn.

"Sister Lin Yue! Good morning!" Yun Yi walked out with messy hair and sleepy eyes. When he saw Lin Yue, he immediately smiled brightly. "Wow, you're up so early? I smell something delicious. Is there anything else to eat?"

"There's still some noodle soup in the pot, make it yourself." Lin Yue pointed to the kitchen. "Also, it's already noon, it's getting late."

Yun Yi responded, quickly finished washing up, and ran to the kitchen. A moment later, he came out carrying a large bowl of noodles, slurping as he sat down on the sofa next to Lin Yue.

"Sister Lin Yue, it's Saturday today, the weather is so nice, why don't we go out for a walk?" Yun Yi suggested enthusiastically while eating. "It's so boring staying at home all the time! I haven't explored Z City yet!"

Lin Yue, who was browsing a novel on her phone, paused upon hearing this. She did indeed want to go out for a walk.

I was a little annoyed a few days ago because of the rumors and that Ebert thing. Although she has resolved them, it seems like it would be good to go out for some fresh air.

"Hmm, that works too." Lin Yue nodded. "Where to? Do you have any suggestions?"

"I heard there's a large wetland park south of Z City, with beautiful scenery and boat rides!" Yun Yi thought for a moment, then his eyes lit up. "Shall we go check it out? It'll be a good way to relax!"

Although Z City is not large in area, its 100,000 square kilometers is not small either. It takes more than three hours to travel by bus from the 3rd district of Z City where they live to the wetland park in the 5th district in the south of Z City.

Lin Yue thought for a moment. She was usually a homebody and had never been to that place before. Using the dimensional barrier wouldn't allow her to know her destination in advance, which might attract attention. She took out her phone: "Let's buy high-speed rail tickets. It'll be faster; it'll only take less than half an hour to get to the South Station 5th District." She could also enjoy the scenery along the way.

"High-speed rail? Great!" Yun Yi immediately agreed. It would be nice to be able to take the high-speed rail with Lin Yue.

Lin Yue tapped the screen a few times and quickly bought two round-trip high-speed rail tickets for an hour later. "Let's get ready, we're heading out."

"Yes, sir!" Yun Yi finished the rest of the noodles in a few bites and rushed back to his room to change his clothes.

Half an hour later, the two arrived at the station. The train station was crowded on the weekend, but the convenience of the high-speed rail made the ticket checking and boarding process relatively smooth.

The two quickly found their respective carriages and seats; Lin Yue had purchased a two-seater ticket. Lin Yue chose a window seat, and Yun Yi naturally sat next to her in the aisle seat.

The carriage was quite crowded, but it was relatively quiet, with only the slight hum of the train starting and the low murmur of the passengers talking.

The train accelerated smoothly, and the cityscape outside the window rushed past. Lin Yue leaned back in her seat, watching the scenery flow by, and her mood gradually relaxed.

However, this tranquility did not last long.

About ten minutes after the car started moving, Lin Yue felt someone kicking the back of her seat rhythmically, not too hard.

"Boom...boom...boom..."

At first, she thought it was an accidental bump by the passenger behind her and didn't pay attention. But after a while, the kicking not only didn't stop, but seemed to become more vigorous and stronger, causing the seat back to shake slightly, and Lin Yue's body to tremble slightly as well.

Lin Yue frowned slightly; this feeling was really uncomfortable. She turned to the side and looked back through the gap in the seat.

In the back row, near the aisle, sat a boy of about eleven or twelve years old, wearing overalls and with a chubby face.

He had taken off his shoes and was barefoot, half-lying on the seat with his legs raised high, rhythmically kicking against the back of her chair, a bored yet self-satisfied expression on his face.

Next to the little boy sat a middle-aged woman with curly hair and a slightly plump figure, who was probably his mother.

The woman was scrolling through short videos on her phone with her head down, and the volume was quite loud. She seemed completely unaware of her son's behavior, or to put it another way, she didn't care at all.

Lin Yue turned around, trying to make her tone calm and polite: "Little friend, could you please not kick the seat in front of you? It's a bit uncomfortable."

The little boy paused, seemingly startled by the sudden noise, but then his mother's voice rang out, with an air of self-righteous protectiveness: "Oh dear, he's just a kid. He was bored on the bus, so what's wrong with moving his feet? He didn't kick hard! Why are you being so petty, little girl? Don't take it personally with a child!"

The woman didn't even lift her eyelids; her eyes were still glued to her phone screen, and her impatience and disdain were obvious in her tone.

Lin Yue frowned. Before she could say anything, Yun Yi, who was beside her, couldn't help but speak up.

He was particularly concerned about Lin Yue's affairs, and especially couldn't stand others being rude to her.

"Hey! Auntie! It's wrong of your son to kick someone's seat! My sister was just trying to remind him! Can't you be reasonable!" Yun Yi turned around, his tone still a bit aggressive.

The woman then raised her head and looked Yun Yi and Lin Yue up and down. When she saw Lin Yue's delicate and fair face, a strange jealousy flashed in her eyes.

She immediately pursed her lips and raised her voice a few decibels: "Oh! So it's a young couple out for fun? What, you think my son is disturbing your lovey-dovey talk?"

"It's natural for kids to be active! What's wrong with kicking the chair a couple of times? It didn't break! I think you're just making trouble for no reason! If you think it's noisy, why take public transportation? Just hire a private car!"

She deliberately emphasized the words "young couple," making her voice sound particularly jarring in the relatively quiet carriage, attracting the attention of many passengers around her with varying expressions.

Lin Yue's face turned completely cold. She had encountered unreasonable people before, but this kind of person who twisted the truth, made a fuss, and resorted to personal attacks was truly disgusting.

Yun Yi was so angry that his face turned red, and his fists clenched: "You! How dare you talk like that! It's clearly your fault!"

"What did I say? Did I say something wrong?" The woman put down her phone, put her hands on her hips, and adopted the posture of a shrew. "At such a young age, she dresses so flamboyantly (actually, Lin Yue was dressed very plainly). What else could she be but a vixen? My son is so well-behaved. If she hadn't seduced him, would he have kicked her seat? I think she's just asking for it..."

"Enough!" Lin Yue interrupted her coldly. Her voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable penetrating power, causing the woman's arrogant demeanor to falter.

Lin Yue's eyes were sharp as ice as she stared directly at the woman. She had originally intended to let the matter drop, but the other woman's viciousness and arrogance had completely enraged her.

More importantly, she noticed that when his mother was scolding him, the little boy was not afraid or restrained. On the contrary, he seemed to be even more proud because of his mother's "support". He even deliberately provoked Lin Yue by kicking the back of her chair again!

Lin Yue sneered inwardly. She glanced at Yun Yi, whose chest heaved with anger, and then at the curious, sympathetic, or indifferent glances cast around her.

Taking direct action would be too low-class and could easily cause trouble. Engaging in a verbal battle with this kind of shrew isn't her style either.

A thought flashed through her mind in an instant. A very subtle smile appeared on her lips.

She patted Yunyi's arm, signaling him to calm down: "There's no need to explain. Don't fall into the trap of proving yourself."

Although Yun Yi was puzzled, he suppressed his anger and looked at Lin Yue with a questioning expression.

Lin Yue didn't look at the mother and child behind her anymore, but instead pressed the call button on the armrest of the seat.
